In September 2014, under the auspices of The Municipality of Zakynthos and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Athens, the beautiful Ionian Island of Zakynthos (Zante) will host a number of events commemorating the 500th anniversary of the birth of the 'Father of modern human anatomy'', Andréas Vesalius who died on the island.
He is the proof that working together, arts and sciences can and does help us to surmount current and future hurdles.
This AEIMS Joint congress in an ambitious International Conference on Art and Science which will offer contemporary exhibitions of medical art juxtaposed with displays of sixteenth century music, organised by the Belgium Embassy in Athens. As Vesalius was originally a musician, it is amusing to reflect that he may have known or even heard these very tunes.
As the President of the AEIMS in the UK, SRi Forensics' CEO Ray Evans will be attending.
Full registration details can be found here and the updated program and interesting details about Vesalius can be found in a downloadable PDF file, here.
