Ray Evans

Ray is the Managing Director and owner of SRi Forensics and a professional member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (MCSFS).

He is acknowledged as one of the United Kingdom's leading practitioners in the field of facial photo comparison or facial mapping as it has become known. He has been successfully involved in many high profile cases in the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA. In the USA, he is recognised as an expert in Facial Comparison, at the time, the only such expert to have given evidence for the Florida Supreme Court in one of the most expensive and long running murder trials in Florida History.

Ray has vast experience of working and collaborating with other companies, he is retained as the Facial Image Expert for Forensic Access, who have been at the Heart of Forensic Science since 1986.

Ray is a member of the University of Manchester where he holds an honorary Research Associate's post in the Division of Neuroscience & Experimental Psychology, and has published a number of papers and articles in relation to his expertise in facial identification, all are available online.

As well as being a past external course assessor, Ray is the visiting lecturer at the University of Dundee where he lectures on the subject of facial comparison in criminal and historic cases.

Being a trained medical illustrator, Ray is a certified member of the Medical Artists Association (MMAA), he has studied basic medical and clinical sciences, ethical and legal issues associated with the practice of illustration in a medical, surgical or clinical context. He is a registered member of the the Academy for Healthcare Sciences and treasurer of the Association Européenne des Illustrateurs Médicaux et Scientifiques (AEIMS).

Ray is a keen property investor and developer, and registered with the NRLA as a landlord with a growing portfolio in the North West of England.
