A fearsome New Foe

The creation of an FBI style organisation within the UK has been described as a landmark moment in policing by Theresa May, the Home Secretary.
In 2013 the new National Crime Agency will become fully operational and will take responsibility for Border Policing, Organised Crime, Economic Crime and the Child Exploitation and Onlr Crime Unit to deal with modern day criminals who use the Internet to commit fraud or who are risks to national security.
The NCA will be staffed with new ‘Super Cops’ with the powers of both police and immigration officers.
A senior Chief Constable will head the NCA with the authority to directly task individual Chief Constables about how they to deal with serious, complex and organised criminality.
